A collaboration between INRAE and many external actors from the beginning of the research

Cases classified in this category are characterized by intense collaboration from the start of the research between INRAE and a variety of external actors, notably representatives of the future beneficiaries of the research. These exchanges are facilitated by a pre-existing relationships and partnerships.

INRAE plays a fundamental role in structuring the research partnership and in the diffusion phases. External actors, partners and intermediaries, provide significant research resources and collaborate with INRAE to overcome lock-ins and achieve the transformations (regulation, reorganization of value chains, market creation) necessary for the diffusion of innovations.

These cases generate impacts rapidly thanks to stable partnerships enabling the quick mobilization of resources and their alignment towards common interests and goals.

The impacts are strong, largely in the economic domain, but also in health, environmental or territorial domains. Cases such as decision-support tools for nitrogen fertilization, bovine genetic selection, or pig feeding belong to this category.
