Four ideal-type impact pathways in INRAE research

The ASIRPA approach pays attention to the process of transformation which renders knowledge actionable by incorporating it into new products, processes, and ways of doing or governing things.
It is necessary to identify systematically the chains of translations that occur during the process. For each type of pathway, we characterize the impact-generating mechanisms and critical points.
So, we can distinguish among four types of Impact pathways:

  1. Intensive transformation drawing on existing networks
  2. Long term research programs and strong collaboration
  3. Diffusion by technology transfert
  4. INRAE is a key initiator of intensive transformations
