Example of case studies

Over 50 standardized case studies in agriculture, environment and food. The case studies helps to understand the impact-generating mechanisms.

The ASIRPA project was launched with the aim of analyzing the societal impacts of agronomic research carried out in a finalized public body such as INRAE.
The project therefore aims at a dual objective, methodological and operational, because it is a question of concretely applying this methodology to INRAE in order to appreciate the impacts of the research carried out there.

The five first cases, studied in 2011, were pilots to design the assessment method. A standard has been developed, including a report template and 3 analytical visuals: the chronology (adapted from Welcome Trust), the impact pathway (adapted from CGIAR)  and the impact vector.

In a second phase starting 2012, a new batch of cases have been studied to account for a variety of situations and scientific divisions of INRA.

Since 2013, the scientific divisions took over the ASIRPA method and applied it on a regular basis to produce case studies, with the support of the ASIRPA team.
